Have you ever considered why different churches disagree on many of the major doctrines, yet most of the churches use the bible to prove their own doctrinal beliefs? Have you ever wondered why today’s Christians can eat pork even though in the Old Testament men were forbidden to do so? Or, do you know people (or, perhaps yourself) who shun Christianity because Christians can’t seem to agree on anything?

Many Christians have evaded from this kind of doctrinal Bible study. After all, just the mention of “Christ went to Hell” is enough to scare anyone away. Surely a simple “I know I am going to heaven” faith is something that any believer should know. Why get hung up with all that heavy doctrine anyway? For one very good reason: Doctrine, by definition, is what the Bible teaches, and knowing what the Bible teaches is extremely important for every Christian.

This article is presented as a simple presentation of the believers blessing in Christ and is in no way intended to be a contribution to theological discussion. It is edifying and evangelistic in purpose. It is hoped, as well, that many who have believed may find some new consolation and exhortation in Christ even through this brief and simple presentation of the saving work and grace of God.
